Penang Ecco Cafe

Ecco Cafe, I heard about this Italy style restaurant from one of my Perak friend. *shame* When I decided to make a visit to this restaurant, I just can't make it, is either I failed to locate it or suddenly I have something to do and I have to call off my plan.

Three weeks ago, "Ecco Cafe" was just come out from my mind, and I just suggest this name to my friend, and in the next minute, we're on our way towards Ecco Cafe. When we arrive, it was so happy as after 'planning' for 1 whole year, now I can pass by the front door, and look for parking lot. I parked my car, and get out of the car, and we exposed under the hot weather with  41 Celsius. I pray to god and hope that the 'spotlight' can turn off for a short period of time.

We reached the front door finally. However, the owner told us they're closed, and please come back at 6pm. *Oh my god* Take a look at the cellphone time, it was 3pm, which their afternoon break before the dinner session.

"Is OK", I told myself, I don't believe this is it.

Last week, I call up my closet friend again, and this round we depart sharp at 1pm. At last, we make it, and below are some photos to share about the food & taste that we ordered. :-)

The outlook of Ecco Cafe. It looks bit 'Old', and that's why I purposely edit an old style colors to it to bring out the feel.

A simple table deco that bring comfort feeling to me.

Not really have nice interior design, but I feel like I am siting at my home with the delicious food.

Soup of the day - Mushroom Soup (RM4)
I kind of like this soup, as it is not as creamy as a 'typical mushroom soup' that we can eat at Western Food restaurant, but the taste just delicious. The mushroom is actually minced and put into the soup, and add some cream on top of it. Homemade style, and the taste is thumbs up.

Japanese Green Tea (RM5)
In such a hot weather, I suggest you to order a cup of Green Tea. At first I thought it was just a Japanese type of green tea, which will served in a packet like Sakae Sushi. When it is served, I found that this is come with a full tea leaf. Wow, this really surprise me and cost only RM5.

You can refill with hot water, and suggest you can just order one, then share with your beloved one. :-)

Tomato & Cheese toasted Baguette (3 pieces - RM7)
This is another homemade toast which surprise me a lot. When it is served, it is hot, look & taste so fresh. I merely can see the cook walk here and there inside the kitchen, but really expect that he can served me with a marvelous toast that I ever have before.

One of the chef Special - Calzone (RM18)
We consider for 6mins plus, finally we decide to order this Calzone with the "sudden inspiration". This is because when we asked the waiter: "Do you have any recommendation from the menu?", he is just answered us everything in the menu are special, just depends on what we like.  -.-"

Therefore, we like 'Ting-tong-tiang' among the name, and finally we found this name attract us the most.
Frankly, this is good. *Another thumbs up*

See, this is what inside look like when you cut it. There are bacon, cheese, fresh tomato slice, and some chicken slice as well if i'm not mistaken. I still remember when we enjoy this Calzone, suddenly we feel the earthquake, and we're so worry as this restaurant is actually one of the pre-war houses in Penang Chulia Street. The shake took about 1min to stop, and we're like 'phew' and continue to keep the rest of it into our stomach.

The design just simple, nice and full of artistic elements.

Ecco Cafe's 'Outdoor' Menu
We didn't notice this menu until we step out of restaurant. This is mainly due to the hot weather that make us not like to stand outside not even for a second.

Ok, this is me. Just to prove that I went there before. :-)
